This policy explains how we use cookies and similar technologies on royalwharfclinic.co.uk. Read it alongside our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle your personal data more generally.
What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that a website saves on your device when you visit. They let the site remember things like your settings or the pages you’ve looked at. We also use similar technologies such as pixels, tags and local storage. In this policy, “cookies” covers all of them.
Some cookies are set by us (first-party cookies). Others are set by companies whose services we use, such as Google or Meta (third-party cookies).
How we use cookies
We only place strictly necessary cookies without your consent. Every other type of cookie stays switched off until you choose to allow it through our cookie banner or Cookie Preferences page.
1. Strictly necessary
These make the site work. They keep it secure, remember your cookie choices and let forms such as our consultation request work. You can’t switch them off in our settings, though you can block them in your browser. Parts of the site may then stop working.
2. Analytics
These tell us how people use the site, for example which pages they visit and where they leave, so we can improve it. The information is grouped and doesn’t identify you directly.
3. Functional
These remember choices you make, such as information you’ve already entered into a form, and support features like embedded videos and live chat.
4. Marketing
These help us show you relevant adverts on other sites and social platforms, and measure whether our adverts work. They may build a profile of your interests based on your browsing.
We never use marketing cookies to target adverts based on health information you give us in a consultation form or medical questionnaire.

Your choices
When you first visit, our cookie banner lets you accept all cookies, reject all non-essential cookies or choose by category. Rejecting is as easy as accepting.
You can change your mind at any time on our Cookie Preferences page or through the “Cookie settings” link in the website footer. Withdrawing consent stops new cookies being set, but doesn’t undo processing that has already happened.
You can also manage cookies in your browser settings. These guides explain how:
To opt out of Google Analytics across all websites, you can install the Google Analytics opt-out add-on.
Data sharing and international transfers
Some of our third-party providers, including Google, Meta and TikTok, may process data outside the UK. Where they do, we rely on the safeguards UK data protection law requires, such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum or the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
The law we follow
We use cookies in line with the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 (PECR), the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, and guidance from the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).
Changes to this policy
We’ll update this policy when we change the cookies we use. The date at the top shows when it last changed. If we add a new type of cookie that needs consent, we’ll ask you again.
